We are looking for an intern
This is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend time on and in the water with the largest congregation of humpback whales on the planet. Guest Services
Assist guests with equipment, luggage, snorkeling skills, general questions/needs and overall onboard hospitality. Help guests board and disembark the boat and tenders and get in and out of the water on snorkeling excursions. Aid with general oversight of swimmers during snorkel sessions, helping maintain our safe and respectful history of whale encounters.
Education and Research
Answer questions about observed behaviors and general whale biology and natural history. Discuss environmental threats and conservation efforts. Possibly assist with ongoing educational presentations and/or develop and deliver short classes on approved topics. Possibly assist with ongoing or new research efforts.
Additional tasks may include helping with social media and content sharing and related marketing efforts.
This is not a paid position. You will receive a berth (a modest, shared cabin in crew accommodations, with minimal privacy), board and a small weekly stipend. The duration is five weeks from February 28 to April 4, 2020 starting and ending in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
